Entrepreneurship starts with an idea—but it grows through education, mentorship, and the willingness to take action.

That spirit was on full display at this year's Big Idea Pitch Contest, hosted by Innovation DuPage. The competition brought together aspiring student entrepreneurs who shared innovative solutions, creative business concepts, and ambitious visions for the future.

For many students, participating in a pitch competition is their first experience turning an idea into something tangible. It requires more than creativity. Students must think critically, communicate effectively, and have the confidence to present their ideas to others. Those skills are valuable not only in entrepreneurship, but also in college, future careers, and leadership roles.

While the contest recognizes top-performing teams, every student who entered demonstrated initiative and a willingness to step outside their comfort zone. That commitment to learning and growth is worth celebrating.

To support students beyond the competition itself, Ivy League Potential partnered with Innovation DuPage to provide educational resources to every applicant. All participants were offered complimentary access to our online college admissions course. Our goal was simple: ensure that every student who invested time and effort into developing an idea could continue investing in their future.

Student entrepreneurs often think years ahead. They are already exploring business opportunities, identifying problems to solve, and imagining the impact they want to make. The college admissions process is another important step in that journey. Understanding how to position accomplishments, communicate leadership experiences, and build a compelling academic profile can help students create opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
